Go back to the modular, this time with a donut cubes.
module and figure I have from the book "Modular Origami Polyedra" Simon Lewis , Bennett Arnstein and Rona Gurkewitz.
The module you can find in the document James S. Plank, "Modular Penultimate Polyedra" in document the module is made from 3x4 paper, but in the book "Modular Origami Polyedra" is made from a square so you can take the color lists. Here you can see a picture of the module with the red lines (valley) black lines (mountain) and the yellow line is only the bisector of the square, next to the profile module is folded.
The difficulty is not to make the cubes, but to join them as they always have to leave a cube open at each end of the chain.
