02/02/2007 D & Fanime in the World Day of Fight Against AIDS


Double D & Fanime participated as guest artists the main official activity Memorial Day in the fight against AIDS in the Dominican Republic: The "V Competition National HIV-AIDS songs " which was, as every year, with the presence of the honorable United States Ambassador, Mr Hans Hertell . Both said they had been impressed to see how massive that young people are involved in campaigns to prevent HIV / AIDS, and welcome the support of many institutions that seek to limit the spread of this disease in our country.

The competition held this December 1, 2006, was organized by the Presidential AIDS Council (COPRESIDA), the Directorate General for Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS ( DIGECITSS ), the United States Agency International Development (USAID ), Population Services International (PSI), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and NGOs of Health.

As in previous versions, the contest competed in dozens of young people around the country with songs at different speeds, in a production that was broadcast by Channel 4 through On TV Manuel and Hermes action . Three trophies were awarded prizes of $ 100.000, $ 50.000 and $ 25.000, and appreciation to Mr. Ambassador. In its participation, Double D & Fanime performed the song "Contigo " whose content promotes romantic fidelity, a major weapons currently used in the prevention of HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections.

Double D & Fanime at University Health Fair - UASD - Week Against AIDS

Double D & Fanime put the musical note of the opening ceremony University Health Fair - Week Against AIDS - held in the morning in the auditorium of Manuel del Cabral UASD Library, which had participation of the leading authorities and specialists in HIV / AIDS in the Dominican Republic, students and people living with HIV. The duo performed the song " Contigo," which addresses the issue of fidelity, one of the main weapons used in fighting the spread of HIV / AIDS in the world. The letters " I with you and for me there is no temptation, you me and never will ... complications "were chanted by the audience at the event. On the evening were also part of the concert offered to students at the Heroes Square in April of the same university. Both activities were conducted by the television producer Manuel Meccariello.

This fair, which is displayed and disseminated educational materials, has been organized by the Presidential AIDS Council (COPRESIDA), the General Directorate for the Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS (DIGECITSS), the Secretariat State Higher Education, Science and Technology and other institutions and health NGOs, and is done as a preamble the conclusion of World AIDS Day next 1st. December.

On Friday October 13, 2006, Double D & Fanime closed with a cheerful the penultimate act of the 1st night. Book Fair and Folk, presented at the pedestrian The Conde, Colonial City of Santo Domingo. These urban musicians, thanks to his extensive activities are becoming the real owners of the street, gave their songs before an audience of fair visitors, pedestrians and tourists. This first show devoted to La Frontera, was open to the public from 7 to 15 October and was presented as part of Underground Culture, led by Mr. José Castillo.
