Double D & Fanime participated as guest artists the main official activity Memorial Day in the fight against AIDS in the Dominican Republic: The "V Competition National HIV-AIDS songs " which was, as every year, with the presence of the honorable United States Ambassador, Mr Hans Hertell . Both said they had been impressed to see how massive that young people are involved in campaigns to prevent HIV / AIDS, and welcome the support of many institutions that seek to limit the spread of this disease in our country.
The competition held this December 1, 2006, was organized by the Presidential AIDS Council (COPRESIDA), the Directorate General for Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS ( DIGECITSS ), the United States Agency International Development (USAID ), Population Services International (PSI), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and NGOs of Health.
As in previous versions, the contest competed in dozens of young people around the country with songs at different speeds, in a production that was broadcast by Channel 4 through On TV Manuel and Hermes action . Three trophies were awarded prizes of $ 100.000, $ 50.000 and $ 25.000, and appreciation to Mr. Ambassador. In its participation, Double D & Fanime performed the song "Contigo " whose content promotes romantic fidelity, a major weapons currently used in the prevention of HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections.
